Samsung has joined forces with Tesla to offer better integration between the SmartThings platform and Tesla products. Samsung announced the collaboration today and will showcase the additions to SmartThings at CES 2024.

Thanks to Tesla's open APIs, this collaboration will allow Samsung smart TV and Galaxy mobile users to integrate Tesla products, including Tesla Powerwall, Solar Inverter, Wall Connector charging, and electric vehicles, with the SmartThings Energy platform.

Samsung device users will be able to access information about energy production, storage, and usage of Tesla products through SmartThings on smart TVs and mobile devices, in addition to the Tesla mobile app.

SmartThings Energy with Powerwall Storm Watch functionalities

Along with the features mentioned above, this collaboration between Tesla and Samsung will also allow customers to sync SmartThings Energy with the Tesla App's Powerwall Storm Watch function.

In doing so, SmartThings Energy users can better prepare in case of extreme weather events, from typhoons to heavy snowfall, and get SmartThings alerts. Thanks to this close collaboration, SmartThings users will be able to activate AI Energy mode to extend the remaining backup energy in Tesla Powerwall.

Samsung will demonstrate the integration between SmartThings Energy and Tesla Powerwall at CES 2024, but the feature is still in development. The company aims to make it available to SmartThings users in the second quarter of the year.
