Switching from an iPhone to a Galaxy will soon become much easier

Apple and Samsung are the world's two biggest smartphone brands, and sometimes consumers switch between phones from those two brands. However, switching is not as easy as it should be, and the two firms seem to be working together to make that process easier.

The latest Canary build (2512) of Android was released yesterday, and it features some of the work Apple and Google have been doing together to make switching between Android and iOS easier. Apparently, the two firms confirmed their joint collaboration to 9To5Google. The improved switching process will be available in an upcoming stable version of Android and a future version of iOS 26.

Currently, if you are switching from an iPhone to a Galaxy (or any Android) phone, you have to install the Smart Switch (or Android Switch) app. And if you are switching from an Android phone to an iPhone, you have to install the Move to iOS app. Although things have improved over the past few years, not all your data will be transferred automatically from your old phone to your new phone.

With future versions of Android and iOS, you won't have to install additional apps for the switching process, as the required functionality will be built into the operating systems themselves. And the feature will appear when you are setting up a new phone. Moreover, more types of data can be transferred between the platforms.
