TL;DR

  • Samsung UK will turn its King’s Cross flagship into a Star Trek destination as part of the franchise’s 60th anniversary celebrations.
  • The store will host a screening of The Original Series premiere The Man Trap and an advance screening of Strange New Worlds Season 4, Episode 8.
  • London events also include a Guinness World Records Vulcan Salute attempt at the Science Museum on September 8, alongside other partner tie-ins.

The beloved Star Trek franchise turns 60 next month, and Samsung UK has announced plans to transform its flagship King's Cross store into a point of interest for Star Trek fans.

Numerous Star Trek-themed events will take place all over the world throughout the next few weeks and months. Star Trek is one of the most enduring and beloved franchises in entertainment, so if you are a fan, the excitement is palpable.

Samsung is but one partner that will celebrate six decades of Star Trek. Londoners will also see Star Trek themes at King's Cross St Pancras and South Kensington stations, and much more.

For example, Star Trek fans will have an opportunity to make history. They're invited to take part in the Star Trek Vulcan Salute in an official Guinness World Records attempt to achieve a new record for Most People Performing the Vulcan Salute Simultaneously.

πŸ–– The Vulcan Salute event will take place at the Science Museum in London on September 8.

How will Samsung transform its London flagship store?

The location will be used as one of four key Star Trek quadrants that will mark the journey of fans over the next few weeks. Samsung says it will transform its King's Cross store in London into “a must-visit destination for fans.”

King's Cross store visitors will be able to participate in a screening of Star Trek: The Original Series Season 1 premiere episode, “The Man Trap.”

Next up, Samsung will host an advance screening of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4, Episode 8, “Orders of Magnitude.”

The original Star Trek series first aired on September 8, 1966. Fittingly, the 60th anniversary celebration begins in less than a couple of weeks on the same day, September 8.

Samsung is not the only partner, and Star Trek fans will have a lot to enjoy. LEGO fans can expect a new U.S.S. Enterprise set next month.

Even Magic: The Gathering will launch a Star Trek-themed set, which I'm personally very excited for as not just a long-time Star Trek fan but a brand-new Magic: The Gathering Arena player who's been “Planeswalking” on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 for the past few weeks.

Check out Samsung's official announcement for a closer look at many other Star Trek-themed events planned for next month and beyond.
