Samsung opened the One UI 8 Watch beta program in Korea earlier today. The new Galaxy Watch software brings a handful of fresh and refreshed features and visuals, and we can now share some quick video previews.
You can check out our two short YouTube videos below for a closer look at Samsung's new charging animations and tiles in One UI 8 Watch beta (via @tarunvats33). The One UI 8 Watch charging animations and tiles are demonstrated on the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, respectively.
There is more to the One UI 8 Watch update, as seen in the official changelog. Not only does the latest firmware introduce extra health-related features, but it also improves personalization options, allows users to create custom tiles, improves notifications, and more.
For now, the One UI 8 Watch update is available in Korea for the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, but users in the USA will also have the option to join the beta program.
Furthermore, Samsung will test the beta firmware on a few older smartwatch models, including the Galaxy Watch 5 and newer. The Galaxy Watch 4 is not planned to gain access to the beta firmware, and by the looks of it, the Watch 4 and 4 Classic might miss out on One UI 8 Watch altogether — even after the beta program concludes.
All the new One UI 8 Watch features will be available from day one on the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) refreshed model. Samsung will announce these wearables at Galaxy Unpacked in New York City next month.
