Samsung working on AirPods Max 2 killer, likely for 2027

A few days ago, we revealed that Samsung is working on new Galaxy Buds with an ear-hook design, in addition to a model featuring a clip-on design. However, those are not the only wireless audio products in the company's pipeline.

We have now discovered that Samsung is also developing over-ear headphones, similar to Apple's AirPods Max and Samsung-owned JBL's Tour One M3. Code strings related to these unannounced headphones were found in the South Korean firm's Galaxy Wearable app, confirming they will feature Bluetooth connectivity.

Samsung internally refers to these wireless headphones as “Galaxy H1,” though their final name will likely be different. The official moniker could surface closer to the product's announcement. Based on how early the project appears to be, these headphones seem far from a launch. We expect them to debut sometime in early 2027, but there could be changes in that regard.

While exact hardware specifications remain unconfirmed, it is logical to expect features such as Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, the SSC UHQ audio codec, Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANC), ambient sound mode, AI assistant integration, Auto Switch support, and significantly longer battery life than standard Galaxy Buds.
