Samsung updates Galaxy S22 with August 2026 security patch

Samsung is making its flagship non-foldable smartphones from 2022, the Galaxy S22 series, more secure with a new software update. It brings the August 2026 security patch, which fixes 56 security issues present in the previous firmware.

So far, the brand seems to have released the latest updates for the base, Plus, and Ultra models only in its home country, South Korea. They have firmware versions S901NKSS9GZH3, S906NKSS9GZH3, and S901NKSS9GZH3, respectively.

The company is expected to release the August 2026 security patch for the Galaxy S22 lineup in more countries over the next few days. You can check if the tech giant has made it available in your region by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The Galaxy S22 series is currently on a quarterly security update schedule, which means that it will get one security update every three months, or once every quarter. It is also worth pointing out that Samsung stopped offering major updates to these phones last year.
