Usually, Samsung rolls out a new version of One UI to its latest and most premium models first, followed by older and more affordable devices. However, the brand doesn't seem to be following that strategy with One UI 9.0 (Android 17). Last month, the company released the update for the Galaxy F54 before offering it to newer devices in the lineup, such as the Galaxy F56. That's finally changing today.

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9.0 to the Galaxy F56. The brand seems to be offering the update first to the units in India. It has a size of 2209.02 MB and carries firmware version E566BXXU7DZJ1 (via Kailash). Along with the brand's latest custom Android interface, it also packs the October 2026 security patch, which fixes 62 security issues. You can get it by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.

One UI 9.0 brings several improvements to productivity, privacy, and customization. Users can customize the Quick Panel more extensively, resize its brightness and volume sliders, and rearrange controls. The update also adds a new Warranty and care menu, quicker phone-locking options, and alerts that indicate when an app accesses the device's location. Samsung Notes and Samsung DeX also receive improvements to make note-taking and multitasking more convenient.

The update also introduces a redesigned Samsung Health interface with improved charts, health tracking, and data logging. Bixby gets better conversation management, while accessibility enhancements include Text spotlight for enlarging and highlighting on-screen text, Select to speak for reading or describing selected content aloud, physical keyboard shortcuts, and improved mouse controls. One UI 9.0 also features a redesigned lock screen clock that adapts to the wallpaper.
