Samsung has hinted several times over the past few months that it plans to launch smart glasses in the near future. During its Q1 2026 earnings call, the South Korean firm reiterated its plans for AI glasses and also revealed that it intends to expand the Galaxy Buds lineup.
During the earnings call with investors, Seong Cho, Executive Vice President of Samsung Mobile eXperience (MX), said the company “plans to deliver immersive multimodal AI experiences through diverse form factors such as AI glasses.” After launching the world’s first Android XR-based headset last year, Samsung now appears ready to expand its wearable computing lineup with AI glasses.

Based on recent reports, Samsung’s first AI glasses could be called Galaxy Glasses. They are expected to run Google’s Android XR operating system and feature onboard speakers, microphones, and a 12MP camera. Gemini will likely handle tasks such as answering questions, capturing photos or videos, sharing content on social media, and playing music. The glasses are expected to compete with Meta’s AI glasses.
It was also recently reported that Samsung is working on a new pair of true wireless earbuds called Galaxy Buds Able. These earbuds are expected to feature a clip-on design with bone conduction technology.
The company also revealed that the ongoing memory chip supply constraints could worsen in 2027, potentially leading to higher smartphone prices and reduced sales. However, Samsung aims to offset this by increasing sales of high-end smartphones. Shipments of laptops and tablets are also expected to decline.
