According to Counterpoint Research, Samsung benefited from rising prices of general-purpose DRAM during the quarter. The company also expanded its presence in the high-bandwidth memory (HBM) segment.

Samsung achieved this despite a decline in average HBM prices, driven by lower HBM3E prices and delays in HBM4 shipments. However, Counterpoint expects HBM prices to rebound in Q3 2026 as shipments of Nvidia's Vera Rubin and AMD's Instinct MI455X GPUs begin.
