Samsung’s flagship smartphones with foldable displays from 2024, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, are getting new software updates. They offer the July 2026 security patch. It addresses 57 security issues present in the previous firmware.
The brand seems to be rolling out the updates globally, including Africa, Asia, and Europe. The new firmware for the book-style foldable phone carries version F956BXXS4DZF1, and that for the clamshell model carries version F741BXXS4DZF1.
If Samsung has made the July 2026 security patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in your region, your phone will prompt you to install the update. If it hasn’t already done that and you want to check for the update’s availability manually, you can do so by going to Settings > Software update > Check for updates.
Both devices are expected to get a major software update soon. It will bring One UI 9.0, the company’s latest Android skin. It is based on Android 17 and brings with it additional options to customise the UI, as well as many new productivity and accessibility features. The tech giant is said to start rolling it out after launching its next foldable phones.
