Samsung launched the Galaxy S23 series earlier this year, along with a bunch of Galaxy A-series phones. In the first months of 2023, it kept itself busy by offering a wide range of smartphones to the audience. Despite not being in the news or launching a new phone, Apple zoomed past Samsung and ate its market share.
According to the latest GStats report, the Apple iPhones are the most popular smartphones in the first months of 2023. In January, Apple made up 27.6%, while Samsung had 27.09% of the market share. In February, Apple's market share dropped to 27.1%, and so did Samsung's to 26.75%. As per another report, out of the 6.84 billion smartphone users across the world, 1.85 billion are using an Apple iPhone, whereas 1.82 billion are using a Samsung smartphone (estimated).
This is not a piece of good news for Samsung because, in February, the company launched its much-awaited Galaxy S23 series. And considering the report, people seem to still prefer iPhones over Galaxy phones. But we shouldn't jump to conclusions, as this could be a short-term trend, and Samsung has every chance of bouncing back and regaining the top spot.
