SamMobile can exclusively confirm that Samsung is making One UI 8.5 official today. The company is announcing the One UI 8.5 beta program and outlining the new and improved features and UI changes coming to Galaxy phones and tablets.
The One UI 8.5 beta program will first open for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The Galaxy S25 Edge is not compatible with the beta program, and neither is the S25 FE. The beta program will be available in the US, UK, Germany, Korea, India, and Poland.
If you live in any of those countries and want to beta-test the new software, you will need to register for it in the Samsung Members app (get it from the Play Store if it's not already installed). Your phone will need a local SIM card and you will need to log in to your Samsung account.
Samsung could expand the beta program to more devices in the future. Based on the company's track record, it could release a few beta versions before releasing the stable One UI 8.5 update sometime early next year.
One UI 8.5 brings a completely customizable Quick Panel, a smarter Bixby, improved Galaxy AI features for image editing, contacts suggestions for Quick Share, ability to access data from all your Samsung phones and tablets using Storage Share, more convenient Auracast and voice broadcasts, lock screen clock layout improvements, and weather effects for alarms.
It also lets you share your workout stats and achievements via Samsung Health. One UI 8.5 brings privacy and security improvements as well, including Theft Protection. Revamped battery information gives your more practical information about expected battery life.
