Last week, Samsung released One UI 6.1 to many high-end smartphones and tablets, including the Galaxy S23 series devices. While the new software customization brought many interesting features to the company’s flagship phones for 2023, it has also introduced many issues on these devices, including slower charging speed, higher operating temperatures, fingerprint recognition failures, and yesterday, we learned that the touchscreen is also not registering the touch input properly.
According to many people, the display registers a touch only after tapping the display several times. Well, Samsung says that it is aware of this issue, that it is being caused by the Google app’s Discover feature, and that Google is working on solving the problem. That’s not all though. Until Google solves the issue, Samsung has provided a temporary solution for the problem.
The South Korean tech giant says that to solve the issue, you have to update the Google app to the latest version, clear the Google app’s data, and then restart the device. Once you do that, the display on your Galaxy S23 should start registering touches properly. To update the Google app, go to the Play Store, tap on the profile icon/picture, select Manage apps and device, and click on the Update all button. To clear the Google app’s data, go to Settings » Apps » Google » Storage and click on Clear data.
