Ahead of the release of the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update to its smartphones, Samsung has updated the Samsung Music app. The new update is now available via both Galaxy Store and Google Play Store. The updated app brings new features, bug fixes, and compatibility with Android 11.

The updated Samsung Music app carries version number 16.2.23.14. The official changelog mentions support for Android 11 and One UI 3.0, the ability to set album art and playlist images, and bug fixes. You can select an image for album art from Gallery or Camera, and even crop it to the square format. When you set a certain song as your phone's ringtone, the app offers you the option to choose the starting point of the ringtone. It also brings an option where you can decide whether external devices can start playback.

Samsung used to pre-install its music player app on its smartphones and tablets, but the app no longer comes pre-installed. Those who want to use it can install it from the Galaxy Store or the Play Store. It is a powerful media player that supports MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, and other music formats. It categorizes music based on albums, artists, composers, folder, genre, and title. It also features a Spotify tab where you can see top albums and artists.
