Samsung is rolling out an update to the Samsung Members app. The update bumps up the app's version to 4.4.00.15 and brings a redesigned UI and themed app icon on devices running Android 13 (One UI 5.0).
If you didn't know already, Android 13 introduced a feature called themed app icons, which changes the color of an app’s icon to the color of your phone’s wallpaper for a uniform look throughout the UI. However, the color of an app’s icon will change only if the app's developer has added support for it. Samsung, in particular, has been updating its apps one by one with support for the new feature, and now, the Samsung Members app supports it too.
Samsung has also redesigned a few sections of the app. For starters, the Diagnostics section, which allows you to test your phone's components for issues, is now called Phone Diagnostics. Earlier, this section also had a button called View Tests, which used to bring up all the tests you can run. Samsung has removed that button. Now, you have to click on the section to see the available tests list.
The earlier version of the app showed an ‘N' badge when new notifications arrived. That N badge has now been replaced with a dot, which looks much more elegant and in line with Android's and One UI 5.0‘s design language. Samsung has reorganized the Discover section of the app. It now shows Editor Picks below top banners instead of Benefits, which has been pushed down on the page.
The new version of the Samsung Members app is available through the Galaxy Store. However, the company could soon offer the update through Play Store. Have you found any other new features in the updated version of the app? Let us know in the comments section below.
