In the global tablet market, Apple has been the leader for a very long time, shipments/sales-wise. However, it is a totally different story in India. In the world’s most populous country, Samsung has been the number one brand in the tablet segment for quite some time. Well, the South Korean tech giant continued to dominate the market in 2025.
Counterpoint Research has published an analysis of the Indian tablet market in 2025. According to it, Samsung had a 31% market share, the highest among all the brands in the country. In 2024, the South Korean tech giant had a 27% market share and topped the charts. It means that the brand has improved its footprint in the country by 15%.

According to the research firm, the tablets that contributed the most to Samsung’s improved performance were the Galaxy Tab A9 and the Galaxy Tab A11. Going by their specifications and prices, many tech enthusiasts believe that they aren’t value for money. However, the latest report shows that the general public values other things more, including brand trust, availability, after-sales service, and user interface.
In the second, third, fourth, and fifth places with Apple, Lenovo, Mi, and Acer, with 20%, 15%, 11%, and 10% market shares, respectively. Speaking of Samsung's tablets, a recent report reveals that the brand is developing a new flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. A couple of days ago, a leak about the device revealed its battery capacity. The upcoming device should help the brand set new records in the tablet market.
