Samsung has just announced that it will be hosting a new online event later this month, called Samsung Networks: Redefined. The company has released a short 15-second official teaser in anticipation of the event, inviting everyone to discover how its cutting-edge technologies will help unleash the full power of 5G.'

Quite obviously, the Samsung Networks: Redefined event will be focused on wireless communication technologies, especially 5G, but Samsung is also planning to discuss the evolution of next-gen networks.

Samsung has been working on 6G for a respectable time. The company began researching 6G network technologies back in 2019 when it put together a team dedicated to 6G research and development.

Samsung is ready to share its vision of a seamlessly connected society

The company hasn't talked much about 6G since 2019. However, Samsung Research Principal Engineer Choi Hyung-jin took leadership of the 6G division two and a half months ago. A new team was tasked with standardizing and commercializing 6G, as well as defining timelines.

It's a long-term plan with many years ahead. 6G is in the conceptual stage of development, and it won't replace 5G anytime soon, but it looks like Samsung is ready to share its vision of the future at the upcoming event. The company will also discuss how unleashing the full power of 5G will ultimately ‘create a more seamlessly connected society.'

Samsung Networks: Redefined is scheduled for June 22 at 10:00 EDT / 16:00 CEST / 23:00 KST. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube.
