Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition today (October 21) and will sell it in Korea from October 25 for 2,789,600 won (roughly $2,040). Like all flagships Samsung has launched this year, the Special Edition Fold will get updates till 2031.
The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition runs Android 14 and One UI 6.1.1 out of the box. Samsung will bring the Android 15 and One UI 7.0 update to it sometime in early 2025, following the official release of One UI 7.0 with the Galaxy S25 series.
We don't know if the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will get access to the One UI 7.0 Beta Program coming later this year. This device isn’t expected to launch outside Korea and China, and Samsung could use the excuse of limited market availability to not bother with public beta testing.
Samsung could also go the opposite way, since the Fold 6 will likely get the One UI 7.0 beta and the Special Edition boasts the same software and Snapdragon processor. We’ll let you know as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned.
