With the Galaxy Z Fold 7's official launch getting closer, the leaks and rumors are picking up steam and will probably have ruined everything about the new foldable by the time Samsung takes the stage. And over on AliExpress, you can even buy the Galaxy Z Fold 7 already. Well, at least if you're looking for a decorative piece.
A listing on the Chinese retail website is selling a Galaxy Z Fold 7 “model machine,” more commonly known as a dummy unit. Naturally, the dummy unit doesn't work, and it even lacks a Samsung logo. Still, it's an opportunity for us to see what Samsung's first mainstream Fold with larger screens will look like.
Spoiler alert: it looks more or less like the Galaxy Z Fold SE, at least until you take a closer look at its cameras. The Fold 7 will have a massive camera bump because of its super-slim design. The Galaxy Z Fold SE is already just 4.9mm thin when unfolded, and the Fold 7 will be even thinner. That's probably the main reason why Samsung has elected not to upgrade the battery capacity on a Fold smartphone for a fifth consecutive year.
Samsung will reportedly unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7, along with the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Z Flip FE, Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and an affordable pair of Galaxy Buds, on July 9th. We can expect it to go on sale around two weeks after the announcement, as is typical with Samsung’s flagship release schedule.
