It's been a couple of weeks since Samsung announced the highly anticipated Galaxy S23 FE, and now, it's finally available for purchase in the USA. The 2023 Fan Edition device costs less than the standard Galaxy S23 and might be one of Samsung's best value-for-money phones of the year.

Samsung has released the Galaxy S23 FE in the USA in two storage variants, 128GB and 256GB, and six color options. The standard color range includes graphite, purple, mint, and cream. The remaining two colors, tangerine and indigo, are available exclusively online at Samsung's online shop.

As for pricing, you can buy the Galaxy S23 FE in the USA for $629. That price tag belongs to the 128GB model. The good news continues, as the 256GB variant doesn't exceed the $700 mark, either. It costs $689.

Story continues after our Galaxy S23 FE review video

Galaxy S23 FE spec overview

The Galaxy S23 FE features a Dynamic AMOLED 2X HDR10+ display capable of 1450 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 6.4-inch diagonal, a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and benefits from Samsung's Vision Booster technology, which makes colors pop even in bright outdoor environments.

Although the Fan Edition device is powered by an Exynos 2200 chip in most markets, customers in the USA get the variant equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The phone also has 8GB of RAM and a 4,500mAh battery with wireless charging and 25W wired charging support.

Other stand-out features include an under-display optical fingerprint scanner, One UI 5.1 with Samsung DeX, and a flagship-grade camera system consisting of a 50MP primary shooter with PDAF and OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and PDAF, and a 10MP selfie sensor.

The Galaxy S23 FE can record 8K videos at 24fps, 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120/240fps, and 720p@960fps.

The phone's design resembles the more expensive Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+, and the FE phone boasts a durable construction with Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and back, an aluminum frame, and an IP68 dust and water-resistance rating.

The phone's software should also last for a fairly long time, as Samsung plans to update the Galaxy S23 FE with four major Android OS upgrades over the coming years.

Check out the video above and our full written Galaxy S23 FE review if you want to learn more about our experience using the device in the first couple of weeks of market availability. It should be noted (again) that our Galaxy S23 FE review is based on the Exynos 2200 version, whereas the USA model sports the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
