Samsung is wasting no time in bringing One UI 8.5 to a wider audience following the start of the public rollout earlier this month. The Galaxy A56 started getting the One UI 8.5 update in Korea on May 18, and Samsung is already pushing it out to European users (via Tarun Vats).

The update carries the build number A566BXXUACZDR and has a download size of nearly 3GB. In addition to all the One UI 8.5 goodies, the update comes bundled with the April 5, 2026 security patch. To download it, head into the phone's Settings > Software update menu and tap Download and install.

One UI 8.5 brings a refreshed visual design with transparent blur effects and floating UI elements, along with a smarter Bixby that understands natural language and lets you check past conversation history more easily.

The lock screen gets some nice touch-ups as well, with automatic layout adjustment for people and pet wallpapers, more clock customization options, and new downloadable interactive wallpapers. The update also improves connectivity with Storage Sharing across Samsung devices, Auto Hotspot enhancements, and faster Smart View connections.

It's worth mentioning that it may take a few days for the A56's One UI 8.5 update to reach all countries where the phone was sold. Samsung doesn't roll out major upgrades for mid-range phones as aggressively as it does for flagship devices.
