Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy A56. It brings the much-awaited One UI 8.5. Based on Android 16 QPR2, it offers a refreshed user interface and many new features, which we will discuss in a moment.
Currently, Samsung is rolling it out in its home country, South Korea, where it is known as the Galaxy Quantum 6. The update is 2,881.78MB in size and carries firmware version A566SKSU6CZDR (via Samsung Community).
Going by the brand's software rollout history, the company should release it in other regions around the globe in a phased manner in the next few days. To check its availability and get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One UI 8.5 brings a ton of changes. The first thing you will notice after installing it is a slightly different user interface in a few places, such as the bottom of the first-party apps, which now shows a floating bar. You also get a more customisable quick settings panel.
Along with that, the new software brings a plethora of new features. For the majority of people, the most exciting one is support for Apple AirDrop, allowing users to exchange files with iPhones, iPads, and Macs wirelessly more easily than ever, without requiring a third-party app.
