The 5G model is the first in the Galaxy A52 lineup to get One UI 6.1. We can expect the Galaxy A52s and Galaxy A52 to get the update soon, or at the very least, before the end of this month.
In the USA, users of unlocked units and some carrier-locked variants, including T-Mobile, can download the Galaxy A52 5G One UI 6.1 update right now. In Canada, the update is available on all major networks.
The changelog for the update is not available at the time of writing, but it should be similar to the changelog for newer Galaxy A smartphones like the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54. That means your phone will not learn any fancy AI tricks after you install One UI 6.1 on it. It will also miss out on features like full-screen Always On Display wallpapers.
To make the jump to One UI 6.1, go to your A52 5G's Settings » Software update menu and select the Download and install option. Don't be disappointed if the update doesn't immediately show up even if you're in a market where other users have received it. These software updates are rolled out in phases and can take some time to go live for everyone.
You can also download One UI 6.1 firmware (you can identify it by PDA versions/build numbers GXE1 and GXD3 for the US and Canada respectively) from the SamMobile firmware library and upgrade your phone using a Windows PC (you will also need to use a USB cable if you use a computer for the installation).
Abhijeet's writing career started with guides for custom firmware for Samsung devices (including the original Galaxy S), and he moved to SamMobile in mid-2013 and worked up the ranks to Editor-in-chief.
