Earlier today, Samsung started rolling out the stable version of One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2) to the Galaxy S25 series globally. Initially, the brand offered it to the base, Plus, and Ultra models, and now, the company has released it for their distant cousin and its latest Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S25 FE.
From what we could gather, currently, Samsung is rolling it out in India. The update is 370.37MB in size and carries firmware version S731BXXU6BZDP (via Tarun Vats). The tech giant may also be offering it in other countries as we speak. You can check its availability by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
We expect the tech giant to release it in other countries in the next few hours, or at most, in a few days. One UI 8.5 brings a new user interface and additional features. As for the new UI, there is a more customisable Quick Panel and a floating bottom bar across many apps, among other things.
Coming to additional features, AirDrop compatibility, enhanced Bluetooth Auracast support, smarter Bixby with Perplexity integration, continuous image editing in Photo Assist, and improved Call Screening are a few to mention. You can check out the major changes in our video below.
