It has been only a month and a half since Samsung updated the Galaxy Tab S9 series with One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), and now, the brand seems to have started developing One UI 9.0 (Android 17) for it.
On Geekbench, a listing of the Galaxy Tab S9 running One UI 9.0 has been spotted (via @Alfaturk16). It suggests that the brand has started testing the new software for its flagship tablet lineup for 2023.
One UI 9.0 isn’t as big of an update as One UI 8.5. That being said, it does bring substantial upgrades, including more customisation options for Quick Panel, new features for Game Booster, Samsung DeX, and Samsung Notes, and enhancements to many accessibility features.
Samsung unveiled One UI 9.0 in May. Back then, the brand also released its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series. The company is expected to debut its stable version with its next foldable phones later this month. Once that happens, the tech giant should release it to older devices.
