World's most important tech guy uses the Galaxy Z Fold 8

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has been spotted using Samsung’s latest foldable flagship, the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Huang revealed the phone during an appearance at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles on September 14. While he was speaking on stage, US President Donald Trump called him to discuss the potential risks surrounding artificial intelligence.

Huang unfolded the phone and put Trump on speaker so the audience could hear the conversation. The large foldable display, which showed “President Trump” as the caller, also gave everyone a clear look at the device.

Some outlets initially wondered whether Huang was using Apple’s recently unveiled iPhone Duo. But it was clearly the Galaxy Z Fold 8, evident by the user interface and the screen's rectangular shape.

This isn’t the first time Huang has been seen using a Samsung foldable. He was previously spotted with a Galaxy Z Fold 7, which was reportedly a gift from Samsung Chairman Jay Y. Lee.

It is unclear whether Samsung also gave Huang the Fold 8 or whether he obtained it elsewhere. Either way, he appears to have upgraded to the latest model, or more specifically, the first in Samsung's new passport-shaped foldable lineup.

Calling Huang the world’s most important tech guy may sound dramatic, but it isn’t that much of a stretch. Nvidia supplies the chips powering much of the ongoing AI boom, and Huang has become one of the tech industry’s most influential figures.

Having him use the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is fantastic publicity for Samsung, particularly now that Apple has finally entered the foldable smartphone market, though the Korean giant is probably hoping his next upgrade isn't the iPhone Duo.
