Last week, MSI teased a portable handheld gaming console and hinted that it would unveil the product at CES 2024. While the company has yet to showcase the device, an official-looking poster of the portable handheld gaming console has leaked online, which not only reveals its name but also its design and features. That’s not all though. The product was also spotted on Geekbench, which reveals its specifications.

    MSI Claw Poster

Design similar to Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, Steam Deck

The poster was revealed on X (previously known as Twitter) by @wxnod. According to it, the name of MSI’s upcoming portable handheld gaming console is Claw. It has the same form factor as Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, and Steam Deck, and it looks very identical to Asus ROG Ally. It has a large screen in the center surrounded by a joystick and a D-pad to the left, and a joystick and action buttons to the right. Both joysticks have RGB light rings around them. It also seems to have front-firing speakers.

Powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor with Arc graphics

As for the Geekbench listing, it reveals that the MSI Claw is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H chipset, which is quite surprising because Asus and Lenovo went with the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor. The one from the blue team has 6 P-cores, 8 E-cores, and Arc graphics with 8 Xe-cores. Intel’s GPUs aren’t very good at gaming because they are known to have driver issues. So, it would interesting to see how the MSI Claw would perform in games, and more importantly, where it stands against rivals.

Features double the amount of RAM than rivals

The benchmarking result also reveals that the portable handheld gaming console has 32GB RAM, which is double the amount of memory that Asus, Lenovo, and Steam are offering. With that, all we need to know now are details about the screen, performance, and of course, price and availability. As MSI had hinted in the teaser video, the company might announce those details and showcase the device at CES 2024.
