How a package tracking feature can improve Samsung Email

Samsungships many of its apps on Galaxy devices, some alternating to similar Google apps pre-loaded on every Android phone. So we get two apps that basically do the same thing, but we learn to live with them anyway. Samsung Email is one such app, which directly competes for our attention with Gmail.

Samsung Email does have a lot going for it but Gmail takes the cake in many other aspects. It also has several advanced features that are missing from Samsung Email, such as AI-based predictive responses, and other nifty features such as package tracking.

A nifty feature that can elevate Samsung Email

Google enabled the package tracking feature in Gmail earlier this year. It eliminates the need for you to go through all of the shipment emails manually to keep track of all the packages you're expecting. Gmail automatically identifies the tracking number when you receive a shipment number and fetches the tracking information to show that to you at a glance.

The information continues to be updated automatically so in the event your package is delayed, Gmail displays a delay label on that email and brings it up to the top of your inbox so you're not left wondering why your package hasn't arrived.

This feature works with most major shipping carriers so whether you need DHL tracking or Royal Mail delivery updates, or are just impatient about when the Amazon delivery will take place, this handy feature proactively gives you that information.

Samsung does make improvements to its Email app and while it’s great that the app isn’t just something that the company ships out of compulsion, this is one minor feature that can considerably improve the user experience. It’s going to provide users with another reason to stick with its app instead of using Gmail primarily, which already has a lot more to offer.

It probably won’t be terribly difficult for Samsung to incorporate a similar feature in its Email app to provide similar information in a proactive manner. Hopefully, we’ll see the company following through on this sooner rather than later.
