Samsung recently revealed that its new foldable phones have broken all pre-order records, even surpassing the legendary Galaxy Note 10 series. Due to high demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung has increased production of the phone.
According to a report from ETNews, Samsung decided to boost Galaxy Z Fold 8 production by an additional 1 million units to meet the surge in demand. Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra are expected to reach 5 million units worldwide, which is a remarkable figure given their premium price tags.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 introduces a redesigned form factor with a shorter and wider display. When the phone is closed, the cover screen features a 10:16 aspect ratio that is ideal for vertical video formats on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
Unfolded, the main screen opens to a 4:3 aspect ratio that works well for standard video content. The display is also well suited for reading e-books, playing games, and running two apps side by side.
This new form factor has proven popular with buyers, accounting for roughly 59% of all pre-orders globally across Samsung's latest foldable lineup. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 has received 30% higher pre-orders compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 globally.
