Samsung, after updating the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with the stable version of One UI 8.5, released the May 2026 security patch for the two smartphones. As usual, the brand offered it first in its home country, South Korea, and now, the company has started rolling it out globally.
Europe is among the first regions to get it. The update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is 516.78MB in size and carries firmware version F966BXXS9ZE2. The May 2026 security patch brings fixes for 36 security issues present in the previous version of the OS, making the phones more secure than before.
To check if Samsung has made the update available in your region as well as to get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We will soon make the update available in our database. You can download it from here and install it using Samsung's Odin tool. However, we recommend you stick with the OTA update method.
On a related note, Samsung recently unveiled One UI 9.0 and released its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series. It brings visual changes and new features. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 are eligible to get it. However, there’s no information about when the tech giant will release its beta or stable versions for the two foldable phones.
