The Galaxy Z Fold 7 was the world's thinnest and lightest book-style foldable smartphone released in 2025, at just 4.2mm thin when unfolded and 8.9mm then when folded. It measures 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.2mm when it is fully open and 158.4 x 72.8 x 8.9mm when it is folded It uses an Advanced Aluminum Armor frame with flat sides and slightly rounded corners.

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with bigger cover and foldable screens than its predecessor. It has a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch foldable screen. Both screens use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate and 2,600 nits of peak brightness. Both panels support HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG formats for HDR media.
With the help of a new foldable OLED panel and a redesigned hinge, the crease on the phone's foldable screen is less visible than the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. The cover display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, while the foldable screen uses the Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) panel.
The phone also has stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos compatibility.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a triple-camera setup on the rear, similar to its predecessor. However, it has a better primary camera that uses a 200MP sensor paired with OIS, similar to recent Galaxy S Ultra series phones. The other two cameras are a 12MP ultrawide camera (with PDAF) and a 10MP telephoto camera (with 3x optical zoom and OIS).
On the front, it has a 10MP selfie camera with a 24mm wide-angle lens and an F2.2 aperture. The other front-facing camera situated under the phone's foldable screen uses a 10MP sensor, an F2.2 aperture, and an 18mm ultrawide lens. The phone can record 8K 30fps videos using the primary rear camera and 4K 60fps videos using all other cameras.
The phone also offers Samsung Log format for recording log videos for a flatter color profile. You can also record videos with pre-loaded LUT profiles for a certain movie-like look. This feature was originally introduced with the Galaxy S25 series.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor, 12GB RAM, and 256GB internal storage. It is also available in 512GB and 1TB (with 16GB RAM) variants. It runs Android 15-based One UI 7.0 software out of the box and comes with a promise of seven generations of Android OS updates and security updates for up to seven years.
The phone also has several connectivity features, including GNSS (BDS, Galileo, GLONASS, GPS, QZSS), 5G (dual-SIM and eSIM), 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, UWB, NFC, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is powered by a 4,400mAh battery and supports up to 25W fast wired charging. It also has Qi2 Ready certification to support accessories like cases and wireless chargers with up to 15W fast wireless charging and magnetic alignment.
