Samsung's 2021 book-like foldable flagship phone retails for $1,799, or at the very least, this was the phone's launch price last year. Today, prospective buyers can order the factory-unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 3 with 256GB of storage from Amazon for just $1,099 after a massive $700 discount.
You can also choose to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the S Pen Case bundle for $1,174 or the 512GB Galaxy Z Fold 3 model for $1,290 after a 34% price cut.
It should go without saying that the newer Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a better phone. It has a newer chipset, a more refined exterior design, a better aspect ratio, and more. With that in mind, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 doesn't make a lot of sense at full price.
However, if you're looking to buy a book-like Fold model for what is essentially a Galaxy Z Flip-level price, this Galaxy Z Fold 3 offer seems virtually unbeatable. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 might never get cheaper than this anytime soon, and the phone can still hold its own against the Z Fold 4, and especially against other foldable phones from rival brands.
Whether or not the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is a sound investment in 2022 is up to you. Either way, know that the phone has received only one major Android OS update so far — if we don't count the recent Android 12L release. This means Samsung will continue supporting the device with at least two-to-three additional OS upgrades throughout its lifetime.
Check out our reviews in case you need to refresh your memory about the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and feel free to use the Amazon link below if you're considering buying this device while the deal lasts.
