The Galaxy Z Flip 8 will debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra next month. While it is expected to be slightly thinner and lighter than its predecessor and have faster performance, it won't receive any upgrades in terms of battery capacity or wired charging speeds.
The foldable phone was recently spotted in the SGS certification database under several model numbers for different countries and regions, which are listed below. According to the certification documents, these devices support a maximum charging speed of 9V and 2.77A, which translates to 25W charging.
This is the same charging speed offered by the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 4. It means Samsung has not upgraded charging speeds on its Z Flip series phones for four consecutive generations.
It was previously revealed that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is powered by a 4,300mAh battery. A full charge from 0% to 100% should take around 1.5 hours.
In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a 4,800mAh battery, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra features a 5,000mAh battery. Both of them will support 45W fast wired charging, which is a significant upgrade over the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
