Samsung has released the stable One UI 8.5 update for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the USA. The update was first released in South Korea four days ago and has now arrived in the US. It introduces several new and improved features along with a slightly refreshed UI design.
The stable One UI 8.5 update is now available for carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in the USA.
The update comes with firmware version F741USQU3DZDP for the Galaxy Z Flip 6, while the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is receiving firmware version F956USQU3DZDQ. It has a download size of more than 4GB and brings dozens of new and improved features and capabilities.
Currently, the update is available only for carrier-locked versions of the phones on select carrier networks.
If you own either of these devices in the US, you can check for the new software update by navigating to Settings > Software update and tapping Download and install. If the update is available and finishes downloading, tap Install now. Your phone will restart after a few minutes to complete the installation process.
The update introduces a slightly refreshed UI design, Call Screening, image editing using text prompts, the ability to merge two images, and more styles for editing portrait shots of people and pets.
It also brings more personalized Now Brief information on the lock screen, a smarter version of Bixby that can understand natural language, Perplexity AI integration, and LOG video previews for LUTs inside the Camera app.
Additional features include more lock screen clock widget customization options, an improved Weather widget, weather backgrounds for the alarm screen, a built-in time zone converter, Storage Share, wireless file sharing with Apple devices through Quick Share, and much more.
