Last week, Samsung launched the company’s latest clamshell foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which packs One UI 6.1.1. It offers many additional features over the ones that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 does. One among them is a feature called Auto Zoom in the camera app.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 gives you the option to enable Auto Zoom when you use the phone’s camera app in the Flex mode to capture pictures of yourself with rear cameras.
This feature recognizes the subject and automatically zooms in on the frame from 0.6x to 3x to get you the best frame for the perfect picture.
You can then ask the phone to take a picture by showing your palm, saying commands like “Smile,” “Shoot,” or “Click,” or with your Galaxy Watch. Well, this useful feature is coming to the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
On Samsung’s Community forum for Korea, the company announced that it will extend the Auto Zoom feature of the Galaxy Z Flip 6 to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 with the One UI 6.1.1 update.
At the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung confirmed that it will roll out One UI 6.1.1 to older devices by the end of this year. So, expect to get Auto Zoom on your Galaxy Z Flip 5 by December 2024. The new software packs many other features. You can check them out in our video below.
One UI 6.1.1 might not offer some features on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 that it does on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, especially the ones powered by Galaxy AI. However, there's no confirmation about anything yet.
If you want all of them, you might have to upgrade to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Apart from all the Galaxy AI features, it will offer better design, enhanced ruggedness and durability, improved screens, faster performance, upgraded camera sensors, a significantly longer battery life than the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
