Until last week, Samsung was busy with Galaxy Unpacked, where it launched the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Watch 7, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Galaxy Buds 3, and Galaxy Ring. As such, the company was slow to roll out the July 2024 security patch.
Fortunately, now that the event is over, the company is wasting no time in releasing the latest security update. After the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy S21, Samsung has now started rolling out the July 2024 security patch to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. It fixes 58 security issues.
The story continues after the video…
Currently, the company is rolling out the latest security update to the international variant of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the carrier-locked version of the phone for the US, which have model numbers SM-F721B and SM-F721U respectively. The new firmware for the former has version F731BXXS3CXG2 and that for the latter carries version F731USQS4CXG2.
If you have either model of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, you can get the latest security update by going to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, you can head to SamMobile’s firmware section, search for your device, download the firmware for your region, and install it manually using the Odin software on a Windows PC.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 brought One UI 6.1.1, which offers many new features powered by Galaxy AI. You can check them out in our video above. Samsung will release the new firmware for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and other eligible devices by the end of this year. Follow us on Telegram or WhatsApp to be the first to know when Samsung releases it.
