Samsung is rolling out new software updates to its two most recent and premium rugged smartphones, the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro. They bring the May 2026 security patch, which fixes 36 security issues present in the previous version of the OS, making these phones more secure than before.
Currently, Samsung seems to be rolling out the update in Europe, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. The firmware version of the update for the XCover 7 Pro is G766BXXS7BZE2, and that for the XCover 6 Pro is G736BXXSCGZE2 (via Mohammed Khatri). To get them, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro are two among the only three devices eligible to get Samsung’s latest Android customisation for its smartphones, One UI 8.5.
It brings visual changes that make the UI look more consistent throughout, as well as many new features, including Apple AirDrop support. You can check it out in action in our video below.
