After years of wait, Apple finally started supporting RCS last year. The supports many modern messaging features like typing indicators, group messaging, high-resolution media sharing, and stickers. However, its compatibility between Android and iOS devices still has some gaps. Soon, Galaxy users will be able to edit RCS messages they sent to iPhone users.
The ability to edit RCS messages sent between two Android devices has been available for quite some time. And a similar feature has also been available for iMessages sent and received between two iPhones. However, RCS messages sent from an Android device to an iPhone couldn't be edit.
A report from Android Authority claims that Google has started rolling out the ability to edit RCS messages sent from Android phones to iPhones. Over the past week, the Google Message app on Android phones is reportedly allowing users to edit RCS messages sent to iPhones. After long-pressing a sent message, users can tap the pencil-shaped icon to edit that message.
This feature is reportedly working on an iPhone running the latest stable release of iOS 18.5 and even the beta version of iOS 26. It is even working in individual and group messages. However, iPhone users still can't edit RCS messages sent to Android users.
Editing RCS messages is only working for some Google Messages users right now. Hopefully, it will be expanded to all RCS users and Galaxy smartphone users can then start using this feature soon.
