More signs point to Samsung releasing a new Galaxy Tab flagship tablet series later this year. And according to new bits of information shared by one Twitter tipster, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should have the same battery capacity as the Tab S8 Ultra and be powered by an overclocked “for Galaxy” Snapdragon chipset.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should feature a battery with a rated capacity of 10,880mAh. That’s the same rated value that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra battery has, which should mean that the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra should ship with a battery that has a typical capacity of 11,200mAh. (via @Tech_Reve)

Galaxy Tab S9 series uses an overclocked Snapdragon SoC

Samsung employed an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for the Galaxy S23 smartphone series — an SoC variant Qualcomm tuned especially “for Galaxy” devices.

And according to these new bits of unofficial information shared via Twitter, Samsung will use the same “for Galaxy” overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for its upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series. The source initially said it’s the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2+, but there seems to have been an error in translation, and in the end, we believe that the Galaxy Tab S9 series will use the same chipset as the 2023 Galaxy S flagship phones.

Other specs remain unknown, but as we exclusively reported last month, the upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 lineup may boast an IP67 dust and water-resistance rating. Not counting Active-branded tablets, if what we’re hearing is true, the Tab S9 would be the first Samsung tablet lineup to boast water resistance capabilities.

Samsung will probably unveil the Galaxy Tab S9 series later this year, around the time it will announce the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 at Unpacked in August-September. The tablet series should consist of a base Galaxy Tab S9 model, the Galaxy Tab S9+, and the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra.

Samsung’s ridiculous tablet keyboard cover prices are hurting DeX

As much as I enjoy using numerous Samsung hardware and software products, one of the areas I very much dislike about the company’s mobile business is how it markets keyboard cover accessories for Galaxy tablets. In short, I think Samsung’s tablet keyboard cover accessories are ridiculously pricey. I’ve complained about this before, but now that […]

Samsung’s next-gen foldables will lose to Vivo in one aspect

Competition against Samsung’s foldable phones is ramping up. More smartphone makers either plan to release foldable sequels or join the foldable market for the first time this year. And because of this mounting competition, Samsung will no longer be “the first” in some aspects. Vivo is working on a new foldable phone called the X […]

Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 to offer IP67 water resistance

Samsung’s flagship tablets have so far lacked IP67 water and dust resistance but that could change this year. SamMobile hears that Samsung’s upcoming flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S9 series, will have an IP67 rating for water resistance. This has been a longstanding demand from customers of its high-end tablets, so this possibility is certainly […]

The power of the Galaxy S23 is backed by larger vapor chambers

Samsung’s new Galaxy S23 may be the best Android smartphone for mobile gaming to date, and it’s partly thanks to the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which Samsung and Qualcomm overclocked with higher CPU and GPU frequencies. An early 3D benchmark indicates that the Galaxy S23 series is almost twice as powerful in 3D […]
