Samsung has released a new security update to the Galaxy Tab S7 series in the US. Three weeks ago, the company released the May 2023 security update to the Galaxy Tab S7 in Europe. Now, the carrier-locked variants of the tablets in the lineup have started getting the latest security patch.

Galaxy Tab S7 May 2023 security update: What's new?

The latest software update for the carrier-locked version of the Galaxy Tab S7 comes with firmware version T878USQU3DWE3, while the Galaxy Tab S7+ is getting the new update with firmware version T978USQU3DWE3. These are the cellular versions of the tablets. The new update includes the May 2023 security patch that fixes over 70 security flaws found in Samsung devices. It doesn't bring any new features to the tablets.

If you have a Galaxy Tab S7 or Galaxy Tab S7+ and if you live in the US, you can check for the new update. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also choose to download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually using a Windows PC and the Odin tool.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab S7 series in mid-2020 with Android 10 onboard. The tablets received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The tablets could get the Android 14 update later this year.
