The Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update is now available for the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro in Egypt, Israel, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, and the UAE. The new software carries firmware version T636BXXU8DYE8 and has a download size of around 3GB. Since Samsung released the May 2025 security patch to the rugged tablet just last week, it isn't getting the new patch with the new update.
If you live in one of the countries mentioned above and have the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, you can now install the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install, and then tap Install now once the update has finished downloading completely. This process will take a few minutes and the tablet will restart once the installation is finished.
The new update brings a redesigned UI, new app icons, smoother and more playful animations, a new battery icon in the status bar, a new charging animation, new and improved apps, more widgets with more customization options, Now Bar, and a lot of new features to the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro.
Samsung has improved the Camera app with a new design that improves one-handed usage. Modes and Routines have received more feature and conditions. The built-in image and video editors have also received new and improved features. Watch the video below to see what One UI 7 brings to tablets.
The Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro was launched in August 2022 with Android 12 (One UI 4.1.1) onboard. The rugged tablet received the Android 13 update later that year and the Android 14 update in late 2023. It has now received its third major Android OS and One UI update. The tablet will get its last major Android OS update before the end of this year.
After Android 16 and One UI 8.0, it will likely only get minor One UI updates and security patches.
