Samsung has released the One UI 5.1.1 update to the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite. This update was released to other tablets and foldable smartphones from Samsung more than a month ago. The One UI 5.1.1 update brings several new and improved multitasking and productivity features to the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite gets One UI 5.1.1 update, starting with Europe

The One UI 5.1.1 update, based on Android 13, has been released to the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite with firmware version T225XXU4CWI2. The update, which has been released in Europe, includes the August 2023 security patch that fixes dozens of security flaws. It is a major update with a download size of over 1GB, so make sure that you use a Wi-Fi network to download it.

If you have a Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and if you live in Europe, you can now check for the One UI 5.1.1 update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite One UI 5.1.1 features

The One UI 5.1.1 update shows more recent apps (up to four) on the taskbar. The recent apps menu shows the app window state (full-screen, split-screen, or pop-up view) of all the recent apps. You can share files with people privately and set a file expiration window for those files. You can also cancel shares or stop people from downloading the files you shared with them.

When you share files with others via Quick Share, the files will continue being sent even if the other person has left the local Wi-Fi network range. In the Gallery app, you can apply image effects more easily and even copy edits from one image and paste those effects to other images easily. When downloading system updates, the tablet can temporarily delete cache and other files to make space for the update if the tablet runs out of storage space.

With the new two-hand drag-and-drop gesture, you can easily select multiple images from one app/window, drag them, and drop those files in another app/window. Samsung Internet lets you move the bookmarks bar and the taskbar to the bottom of the screen. You can change Modes from the lock screen of the tablet.
