Samsung’s second Galaxy S Ultra phone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra, brought with it an additional camera over its predecessor, the Galaxy S20 Ultra — a telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Since then, every Ultra model up to the latest Galaxy S26 Ultra has retained a 3x optical zoom telephoto camera. However, that could change with Samsung’s next non-foldable flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

The tipster also claims that Samsung is confident the new main camera can effectively replace the traditional 3x optical zoom lens.
