While Samsung has brought back the Exynos chipset to its flagship series with the Galaxy S26 series this year, it retained the Snapdragon processor for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Amid rumors that Samsung may decide to eventually go all Exynos for the Galaxy S series, hints continue to come in that at least next year's top-of-the-line model could stick with Snapdragon.

Galaxy S27 Ultra may use the top-tier Snapdragon chip

Earlier reports have suggested that Qualcomm is preparing two variants of its next flagship chip, the Snpadragon 8 Eilte Gen 6 and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. It's believed that Samsung may use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, identified as the SM8975, for the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Qualcomm may have just hinted at that. In a post on X, it recaps all of the Samsung flagships since 16 years, starting from the original Galaxy S, that have used a Snapdragon chipset, highlighting that generations of flagship performance on Samsung devices have been powered by Qualcomm.

It ends that video with the message “and there's so much more to come,” potentially hinting that future Samsung flagships are likely to stick with the Snapdragon chipset. That's a possibility which will surely excite many fans of the Qualcomm – Snapdragon partnership.

Samsung isn't going to unveil the Galaxy S27 series until early next year, so there's plenty of time for things to be set in stone. As things stand, though, it looks more likely than not that we'll see a repeat of Snapdragon in next year's flagship.
