Galaxy S27 Scam Detection feature may arrive on older phones too

Google launched the Scam Detection feature as a Pixel 9 series exclusive before bringing it to the Galaxy S26 series and the latest Galaxy foldable phones.

Hints have been spotted in One UI 9.0 beta 7 that show this feature will be available on the Galaxy S27 as well as some older Galaxy devices.

Scam Detection works in the background to stop scams in their tracks. It will keep an eye out during phone calls and in text messages even in different messaging apps. If the feature feels that the call you're on might be a scam, it will alert you to that potential through a notification, vibration, or sound.

Android Authority has found references in the One UI 9.0 beta 7 code which highlight that the Scam Detection feature will be available on the Galaxy S27 series that's due to arrive next year. It also contains references which suggest that this feature may also be rolled out for all Galaxy S25 models, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 as well as the Galaxy Z TriFold.

This is a promising indication that Samsung doesn't intend to keep this feature limited to its newest phones only. At least some legacy devices will also offer the protection that the Scam Detection feature provides.
