Among Samsung’s three newly launched flagship smartphones, only the top-of-the-line model, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, offers an upgraded camera setup. The other two devices in the series, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+, carry over the same camera hardware from their predecessor.
However, all three phones come with new software features for cameras to improve image and video quality, as well as, offer more convenience. We already discussed how these phones can record LOG videos. As it turns out, they also offer more editing options for RAW images.
Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 brought a new version of Expert RAW that offered two editing options: Highlights and Shadows. Well, the Galaxy S25’s Android 15-based One UI 7.0 offers a newer version of Expert RAW. It brings six new menus for editing RAW images: Exposure, Highlights, Shadow, Contrast, Saturation, Vigor, Colour Temperature, and Noise Removal.
Check out our hands-on video of the Galaxy S25 Ultra below.
Along with that, Samsung has also added a histogram to the RAW image editor, which helps you see changes in brightness while you are editing an image. You can check out how each editing option looks in the images provided by Samsung below.
As the new RAW image editing options are part of Expert RAW, Samsung might be able to offer them on older devices by updating the Expert RAW app.
