Samsung is back with a new version of its beloved Over the Horizon ringtone, just in time for the launch of the Galaxy S25. Every year, the company brings a new version of its ringtone and ships it with its new flagship phone.
Over the Horizon got more jazzy for Galaxy S25
The new version of Over the Horizon was created with the help of a full jazz band. So it sounds more soulful and vibrant. Samsung says this new rendition “evokes an ideal day and a hopeful future,” and we agree. You can listen to this year's version in the video below.
The new version of Samsung's default ringtone was created by Jacob Mann, a Los Angeles-based composer and pianist. More interestingly, it was captured in spatial audio and mastered in Dolby Atmos by engineer Will Kennedy.
Samsung also published a short making video of its new ringtone where you can hear Jacob Mann's thoughts about Over the Horizon and how they tried to compose it to connect to the rhythm of the day. For example, it is mellow and soft at the start (like the start of the day) and then gets bolder from there (like a busy evening).
You can watch the making video below.
The Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will be unveiled on January 22. Reports claim that the phones will go on pre-order in most countries on the same day, and pre-ordered phones will be delivered starting February 3. The phone will reach store shelves on February 9.
