In the second run, the Galaxy S24 scored 9% lower, while the Galaxy S24+ scored 7% lower than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

3DMark Solar Bay Ray Tracing

The Solar Bay benchmark test from 3DMark, the raytracing performance of a smartphone can be tested. Some games have now started using raytracing technologies for more realistic graphics, so it is interesting to see who comes out on top.

Surprisingly, the Exynos 2400  version of the Galaxy S24 scored 8,766 points as its best score and 4,874 points as its lowest score in the test. That's 55.6% stability, which is better than the 50.3% stability, the best score of 8,590 points, and the lowest score of 4,324 points of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 achieved the best score of the bunch: best score of 8,855 points, lowest score of 4,968 points, and stability of 56.1%.

The Galaxy S24 lasted 13 hours and 50 minutes, while the Galaxy S24+ lasted 13 hours and 22 minutes. The Galaxy S24 Ultra lasted 15 hours on a single charge. So, all three phones in the lineup lasted longer than their predecessors (compared to the same test from last year).

So, it appears that the raw performance of the Exynos 2400 processor is within a 10% difference from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor, which is Qualcomm's best right now. That shows Samsung has improved the design and performance of Exynos chips by a massive margin, and its flagship Exynos 2400 processor is now almost as good as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
