Samsung may launch the Galaxy S24 series earlier than its usual launch time frame for Galaxy S series phones, at least according to a report from Seoul Economic Daily. According to the report, Samsung is planning to hold the Galaxy Unpacked launch event for the Galaxy S24 in the US, which is where the Galaxy S23 was also unveiled.

The Galaxy S24 series could be launched in January 2024, according to some reports. The Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event is expected to be held in San Francisco, USA. Usually, Samsung holds Galaxy S launch events in San Francisco and Galaxy Z launch events in New York. However, for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked launch event in Seoul, South Korea, but that was due to South Korea's focus on the bid to hold the World Expo 2030.

    Leaked Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra specifications

Several reports claim that Samsung will bring back Exynos chips to its high-end phones with the Galaxy S24. The Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ could use the Exynos 2400 chip in most of the world, while Canada, China, and the US could get Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 versions of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, however, is expected to exclusively use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor. The Exynos 2400 chip, featuring a 70% faster CPU, AMD RDNA3-based Xclipse 940 GPU, and 14.7x faster AI processing, was announced last week during the SLSI Tech Days 2023 event.

Some of the rumored improvements include a titanium frame for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, LTPO Dynamic AMOLED 2x screens for all models in the lineup, and improved cameras. The Galaxy S24 could have a Full HD screen resolution, while the Galaxy S24+ could be upgraded to a QHD+ OLED panel. All three phones are expected to reach as high as 2,400 nits of brightness. All three phones are expected to run Android 14-based One UI 6.1 out of the box and get at least four major Android OS updates.

The Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+ could have a 50MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP selfie camera. The Galaxy S24 Ultra could have a 200MP primary rear camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP selfie camera.

The Galaxy S24 could have a 4,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S24+ could have a 4,900mAh battery. The Galaxy S24 Ultra could continue to feature a 5,000mAh battery and an S Pen. 45W fast charging is expected on the Galaxy S24+ and the Galaxy S24 Ultra, while the Galaxy S24 could be limited to 25W fast charging. 15W fast wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging may be available on all three phones. All three phones could have two-way satellite communication for emergency messaging.
