Samsung has already released two One UI 8.0 beta updates for the Galaxy S25 series and has been internally developing the software for the Galaxy S24 lineup. Now, it appears that the company is advancing One UI 8.0 development for the Galaxy S23 series as well.
The first One UI 8.0-based firmware for the Galaxy S23 Ultra has been discovered (via @tarunvats33) on Samsung's internal servers. Based on Android 16, the build has firmware version S918BXXS8DYF1. The software is for the global variant of the smartphone and for the European (EUX) region.
As we reported months ago, the stable version of One UI 8.0 will debut with the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in July 2025, and the update will then expand to the Galaxy S25 series. In a few weeks time, the update will be released to other high-end Galaxy phones and tablets and then to other compatible devices.
One UI 8 brings new features and minor UI design changes. It has improved Quick Share design, a redesigned Samsung Internet UI, improved AI select, more options for Samsung DeX, enhanced split-screen view with 90:10 design, improved Calendar and Reminders apps, and more options for Modes and Routines. It also enhances Secure Folder based on Google's code for Android 16.
The stable version of One UI 8.0 will likely be released for the Galaxy S23 series in the third quarter of this year.
